About the Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an IT Specialist to join our Corporate Centerra team. This position is an onsite role based at our Toronto, ON office.
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the IT Specialist is responsible managing our global ticketing system, managing user accounts, permissions, licenses, and keeping IT assets inventory up to date. A strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement in IT service delivery is essential.
You’ll also have an opportunity to contribute to broader IT initiatives — gaining hands-on experience with infrastructure, cloud services, security, and enterprise applications — making this a great opportunity for someone looking to expand their IT career beyond support.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, accounts, security groups, and permissions in Active Directory/Entra.
- Configure and maintain the ITSM tool to align with business needs. Implement updates and enhancements as requirements evolve to improve system efficiency and support changing processes.
- Generate reports from our ITSM tool and ensure tickets are actioned in a timely manner.
- Manage, create, and update knowledge documents within the ITSM system to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is available for troubleshooting, processes, and user guides. Regularly review and revise documents to align with changing business needs and best practices.
- Manage Office 365 licensing for all users, conducting regular reviews to identify and eliminate unutilized licenses, optimizing costs.
- Perform regular User Reviews and support the SOX Audit process.
- Keep an up-to-date inventory of IT assets.
- All other duties as assigned.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT support role.
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networking.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
- Enjoys solving problems and improving processes.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are a plus.
- A strong work ethic, an ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence.
- Takes initiative and can work independently when needed.
- Is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative IT team.
- Local and international travel may be required.
