About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, Operations Finance to join our Centerra Corporate team. This is a hybrid position out of our Toronto, ON office.
Reporting to the Manager, Operations Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst’s main tasks will include the monthly consolidation process, the preparation of quarterly external financial statements and assisting in the implementation and improvement of system and process changes within the Company’s finance function.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of the assigned sections of the monthly Management Report of Operations and coordinating the completion of the report.
- Supporting operations teams with operational accounting issues and ensuring consistency with Corporate accounting policies.
- Preparation of quarterly CAPEX report for the operations.
- Preparation of quarterly cash flow schedules for assigned entities.
- Preparation of the quarterly Management Discussion & Analysis and its underlying schedules.
- Assisting the preparation of the quarterly consolidated Financial Statements, as needed.
- Coordinating the monthly Capital Committee meetings, organizing and consolidating meeting materials with the relevant teams/individuals.
- Preparation of the Quarterly Business Review deck, including assigned slides, tables and schedules.
- Preparation of the assigned slides and tables for the quarterly CFO deck and coordinating/consolidating the final deck.
- Preparation of the assigned slides and tables for the quarterly Technical, Corporate Responsibility Committee deck.
- Preparation of monthly Exploration report and analysis.
- Organizing and uploading of monthly Holding Company financials.
- Reviewing and sign-off of treasury confirmations for controls purposes ensuring agreeance to underlying documentation.
- Supporting system and process implementation and improvements within the financial reporting group.
- Performing ad-hoc analysis, reconciliations and assisting the finance team with other tasks as needed.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- University bachelor’s degree required (Business/Accounting).
- 4-6 years of related work experience.
- Experience working in the mining industry or in auditing mining companies would be an asset.
- Experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm would be considered an asset.
- CPA designation or in the progress of obtaining a CPA designation is required.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skill with ability to understand big picture but also get into the details.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
- Strong ability to develop constructive relationships in order to work with other departments, including those in foreign operations, to ensure smooth and timely collection of information required for various accounting and operational purposes.
- Knowledge of advanced consolidation and report tools, such as Oracle FCCS, SAP, or Workiva would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated track record of continuously improving processes and finding different solutions.
