About Thompson Creek Mine

The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods with large electric-powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Mine Maintenance Clerk to join our Thompson Creek team who will be responsible for providing a full range of administrative support services to the Mine Maintenance department. 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Performs administrative functions such as entering maintenance information into the mine database system.
  • Assists with tire and truck bed liner inventory.
  • Assists maintenance planner with duties.
  • Responsible for updating the component changeout spreadsheet management system.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

About You

To qualify, the following skills and experiences are required:

  • Applicants for this position must have 1-3 years of general clerical experience.
  • Excellent typing skills with a demonstrated concern for details and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Word are required.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment in order to work independently and to handle multiple priorities. 
  • Must have excellent communication and telephone skills with the ability to interact and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of employees.
