About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant. 

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. 

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Technician, Warehouse to join our Mount Milligan Mine team. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Technician will be responsible for a variety of warehousing duties in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate physical receipt and issue of materials.
  • Perform inventory cycle and month end counts.
  • Properly label materials before received/stocked into respective storage locations.
  • Performing data entry transactions using SAP ERP software.
  • Document and maintain shipping and receiving records for products and materials.
  • Picks and stages material for maintenance jobs.
  • Deliver materials to designated areas on-site.
  • Shipping of materials including all Transportation of Dangerous Goods requirements.
  • Oversee and participate in safe material loading and unloading procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment.
  • Ensure safe and proper hoisting and lifting procedures are practiced.
  • Follow proper receiving procedures when dealing with lost, damaged or miss shipped materials.
  • Assist with developing warehouse, assembly of shelving/racking and other related duties.
  • Ensure TCM assets are securely stored and accounted for.
  • Providing timely customer service and assistance with orders, inquiries and concerns.
  • Ensuring that all cross-over notes, tasks are completed for incoming coworkers and executed for outgoing.
  • Performs any other responsibilities related to the Warehouse Technician role as required or as assigned by the department head.

About You

  • Journeyman Warehouse Certification or be willing to enroll as an apprentice.
  • Previous experience in a mine and knowledge of mine and process equipment.
  • Certified in or willing to certify operating indoor electric forklift, articulating loader, and rough terrain forklift.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent safety record and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in adverse conditions.
  • Computer literate and proficiency, including use of scan code or inventory bar coding systems.
  • Certified in or willing to certify in Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to build relationships and interface effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be assertive and have the ability to raise difficult issues.
  • An independent, self- motivated individual with the reputation of having consistent, sustained initiative within a lean organizational environment is required.
  • Valid Canadian Driver’s License

 

Working Conditions

  • Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 14 day on/14 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
  • Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
