About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant. 

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. 

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent, Mill Reliability to join our Mount Milligan Mine (MTM) operations site.

This role operates on a rotation of 7 days on/7days off at a 12-hour daily schedule with camp accommodations provided. 

Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Mill Reliability Superintendent will enable the safe and reliable operation of the Mount Milligan Mill at the lowest life cycle cost. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of world class equipment reliability practices

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of a reliability tactical plan to support the mill mission and strategy.
  • Champion proactive PM/PdM programs, including systemic review of equipment criticality and asset management strategies.
  • Create and support a suite of Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to quantify the health and effectiveness of the work management system.
  • Oversee an effective equipment monitoring program to proactively identify emerging defects and facilitate predictive maintenance.
  • Facilitate and support the site-wide adoption of best practices in regard to Centerra Gold's enterprise software (SAP).
  • Develop and implement a Risk Based Inspection (RBI) program for the mill major infrastructure which adopts and aligns with industry standards.
  • Manage the mill failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS).
  • Collaborate and partner with Mill Operations Superintendents, Mill Maintenance Superintendents, and Mill Projects & CI Coordinator to ensure annual production targets are met and exceeded
  • Establish document management systems for mill-controlled documents. Partner and align with site-wide stakeholders 
    to promote consistency.
  • Coach, mentor, and lead a team of engineers, reliability technicians, document controllers, and administrators

About You

The following will be critical to successfully perform this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Industrial), or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is an asset but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial reliability/maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in industrial reliability/maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of milling operations and technical processes, with the ability to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in milling or equivalent heavy industry.
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
  • Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks under time and cost pressure; assigns appropriate priorities to competing interests; and effectively delegates

Working Conditions

  • Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7 on/ 7 off, 12 hours per day
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Prince George, Fort St. James and Mackenzie
