About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant. 

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. 

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

The Junior Planner is responsible for supporting maintenance and operations across Site Services and Dewatering. This role maintains preventive maintenance schedules, optimizes weekly resource allocation, and oversees rental equipment and inventory management. It also administers financial processes, including planning, tracking, requisitions, work orders, and invoicing, while providing accurate reporting and document control. The position facilitates departmental workflows and manages accommodations, both on-site and off-site, for routine operations and major maintenance activities. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with multiple departments to achieve cost efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence. 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintains PM schedules for Site Services and Dewatering operations
  • Optimizes weekly schedules to ensure efficient time and resource allocation for Site Services and Dewatering
  • Oversee rental equipment management and some contractor management
  • Manage inventory systems and materials for Site Services and Dewatering
  • Administer financial planning and tracking, requisitions, Work orders and Invoicing
  • Supports departmental processes through logistics, reporting, document control, and workflow coordination
  • Plan and support all offsite accommodation for major shutdowns

 

About You

 

Diploma in planning or business administration, with a strong technical aptitude

2 yrs Maintenance planning, operations planning or relative experience

SAP and advanced Excel/Microsoft software knowledge

Have excellent written and verbal communication

Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision

 

Working Conditions

  • Camp-based role working:
    • 10-hour days on a 4 day on/3 day off rotation
  • Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
  • PPE always required.
  • Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
  • Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
