About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About the Opportunity
Mount Milligan is seeking a General Foreperson, Projects & Facilities to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all camp and associated site services. This role provides day-to-day leadership for accommodation, catering, housekeeping, bussing, and contractor-provided services, ensuring camp operations support site production, project execution, and workforce wellbeing. The position requires strong operational oversight, disciplined cost control, and contractor management, with a consistent presence in camp facilities to proactively identify issues and maintain service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as delegated site authority for camp operations, bussing, site services, and small projects in the absence of the Superintendent.
- Maintain effective control of camp operations, including accommodation, catering, housekeeping, bussing, and contractor services.
- Ensure camp services remain stable during peak occupancy periods, shutdowns, and contractor ramp-ups.
- Coordinate daily and short-range work planning activities to align camp, facilities, and small projects with site priorities.
- Manage contractors against agreed scope, performance expectations, and service levels.
- Monitor operating costs and manage projects and expenditures under $500K.
- Ensure compliance with site safety standards, food safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Support safety programs, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Provide direct supervision and coaching to forepersons, leads, and contractors.
About You
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields (asset).
- Education or certification in Project Management and/or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) designation (asset).
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- Extensive experience in camp operations, facilities management, or site services in mining, construction, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and service providers.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, food safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and operating costs.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Supervisory experience with proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage performance, and resolve conflicts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, adaptability, accountability, and decision-making under pressure.
Working Conditions
- Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 7 day on/7 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
