About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About the Opportunity
Mount Milligan is seeking a Tool Crib Technician to support the mobile maintenance team by managing tools, equipment, and consumables within the shop environment. This role ensures tools and lifting equipment are inspected, maintained, organized, and readily available to support safe and efficient maintenance operations. The position also provides general shop support, participates in safety initiatives, and contributes to maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safety-compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the tool crib for easy access and proper inventory control.
- Inspect and maintain lifting equipment, signal wands, safety chains, and spill protection stations.
- Receive and verify stock from the warehouse; source tools from other departments when required.
- Audit steam truck/bay supplies and repair defective wands and hoses.
- Assist with cleaning and organizing the shop floor and provide general shop support (PMs, wash bay assistance, snow removal, yard cleanup).
- Actively participate in safety activities, audits, and inspections.
About You
- Solid understanding of tools and consumables; maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift, skid steer, and overhead crane is essential.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with established rules and guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain schedules, and work independently when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, required.
Working Conditions
- Camp-based role working 12-hour days on a 7 day on/7 day off rotation, with accommodation provided during rotation.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
