About Mount Milligan Mine

Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant. 

Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. 

Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Document Controller to join our Mount Milligan Mine (MTM) operations site.

This role operates on a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off at a 12-hour daily schedule with camp accommodations provided. 

The Document Controller ensures that all operational, safety, training, and compliance-related documents are accurately tracked, securely stored, and readily accessible to relevant stakeholders. In addition to core document control duties, the Document Controller collaborates with various departments to provide document training and support administrative tasks, including meeting coordination, accommodation logistics, and site access management for the health & safety team, as needed.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Document Management

  • Upload, maintain, and organize electronic and paper filing systems (e.g., SOPs, SWPs, personnel certifications).
  • Maintain various SharePoint documentation repository sites.
  • Upload RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports and assist with Taproot incident investigations.
  • Manage drawing database and participate in redlining processes.
  • Design templates for documents, file types, and databases.
  • Assist employees in accessing documents through document management systems.
  •  systems.

Training & Records

  • Maintain training records and Learning Management System (LMS) data.
  • Track and report maintenance-related documents.
  • Maintain the Skills Matrix for MTM employees and contractors.

Administrative Support

  • Attend meetings and prepare related documentation.
  • Occasionally assist with accommodation reservations and site access forms for visitors and contractors.
  • Submit IT tickets as needed.
  • Print and coordinate work orders and linked documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting & Metrics

  • Upload and maintain relevant reports in SharePoint and/or SAP.
  • Work with or manage appropriate KPIs and metrics.

About You

Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred).

Experience

  • 4–5 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Experience working with document control systems and databases.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in SharePoint and SAP (preferred).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.

Working Conditions

Work involves a camp-based role at the Mount Milligan Mine site with a set work schedule on a 7x7, 12 hours per day

Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts, up to 12 hours in duration

Occasional exposure to hazardous environments with the requirement of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Mount Milligan is a safety-sensitive environment and promotes a drug & alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a ZERO – TOLERANCE policy, with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs/paraphernalia on site

Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from Prince George, Fort St. James and Mackenzie
