Looking for a Mentor as part of your professional development? Become a Mentee through the

International Women In Resources Mentoring Programme (IWRMP)

The Opportunity

This unique 6-month international cross-company programme was established to promote and empower women to progress their careers, overcome professional challenges and build confidence for achievement and industry leadership.

  • Established in 2018, the program has been run annually, growing year over year with 416 Mentees having successfully completed this program globally.
  • Mentors are senior industry leaders from the mining and resources sector, and Mentees and Mentors have participated from over 20 countries.
  • Centerra Gold has been a Nickle Level Sponsor of IWIM & IWRMP for the past three years and have had 10 Mentees and 2 Mentors participate in the IWRMP programme to date.

IWRMP places a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, aiming to reduce cross-cultural barriers by creating partnerships between talented, driven mentees and senior industry leaders committed to the promotion of women in mining.

Mentees benefit greatly from the guidance and insight of the inspirational men and women mentoring them, who in turn expand their understanding of younger professionals ‘perspectives and challenges.  These individual benefits extend to positively impact participants’ teams and organizations, improving the position and opportunities of women across the mining sector.

Programme Overview

  • The IWRMP is mainly delivered in English, however efforts are made to match Mentees/Mentors to accommodate language needs, where possible.
  • Mentors are female and male mining professionals, from both sponsor companies and an independent cohort from any background participating in a personal capacity.
  • This is an international, inter-company mentoring programme with participants spanning 20+ countries and most time zones.
  • The programme is highly structured and outcome-oriented; like all mentoring programmes, it is Mentee-led.
  • IWRMP works with Australian advisory firm Metisphere to execute various elements of the programme, including but not limited to matching, training, coaching, facilitation, and programme evaluation.
