Purchasing Agent - Materials Coordinator

Position is onsite at the manufacturing plant.
Main Responsibilities
- Negotiate contracts for services, products, etc. in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations
- Manages all suppliers for plant operations.
- Monitor and assess vendor performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and address and address and resolve supply-related issues promptly.
- Provides detailed monthly reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality and compliance standards, including regulatory requirements.
- Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with management to develop and manage the purchasing budget.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices to increase efficiency and cost reduction.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts and correspondence.
- Stay up to date with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or related experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
- Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement role, ideally in manufacturing or processing.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
