About the Opportunity
Centerra Gold is looking for a proactive, creative, analytical, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Analyst to join our Global Insurance & Risk team. This position is a hybrid role based at our Toronto, ON office.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Insurance & Risk, the Analyst will support the Insurance/Risk department and play a key role in delivering exceptional internal services to our stakeholders by assisting in the successful placement and management of a complex Insurance program. The Analyst, Global Insurance & Risk will assist in the development and execution of Centerra’s Global Insurance & Risk Program, which aims to effectively protect Centerra through third party risk transfer and risk monitoring, control and mitigation.
This entry level position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation education in Commercial Insurance who is ready to take on responsibility and specialization in a Risk Management role within a niche industry sector.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the perpetual cycle of insurance renewals ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentation which includes:
- Collecting and assembling renewal documents and supporting materials for Underwriting Submissions for Insurers.
- Timely processing of Invoices and follow-up with Brokers on Certificates, Binders and Endorsements.
- Following up with Brokers on outstanding items and with internal Finance Department on A/R items.
- Drafting and carefully reviewing communications prior to internal and external distribution.
- Assisting the Senior Manager, Global Insurance & Risk as required, including, but not limited to, quarterly and annual Insurance and Risk reporting, Reclamation Surety placement support and incoming and outgoing Certificate of Insurance management.
Insurance & Risk Department Internal Processes
- Create and maintain an Insurance & Risk Manual with detailed instructions for all tasks performed under this job description.
- Maintain checklists to keep them aligned with actual steps needed to perform work as it dynamically evolves.
- Participate in quarterly Risk Register updates and reporting to external third parties for compliance purposes.
- Perform other duties as required, including tasks required for day-to-day administration and assistance with the management of Insurance & Risk activities.

About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Completion of a full-time program in Insurance and/or Risk Management achieving a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Commercial Insurance with interest in the resource-based business sector (previous Co-Op and or Insurance work experience is a bonus)
- CIP and/or CRM designation (or in the process of working on their successful completion)
- Proactive problem solver with a positive attitude, adaptable to new challenges in a fast-paced environment, and committed to owning the outcomes of assigned projects
- Exceptional organization skills, with a focus on accuracy, time management and multi-tasking
- Demonstrated curiosity and a desire to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with a keen attention to grammar, with the ability to translate complex insurance terms for internal users
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a team environment, with multiple priorities, while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to build relationships and work with various departments and locations/mine sites
- High degree of sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential matters
- Proactive work approach balanced with the ability to know when to ask for guidance
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
