About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemist to join our Langeloth Metallurgical Facility in Langeloth, PA. In this onsite role, you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine chemical and metallurgical analytical tasks, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and documenting findings. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and supervise the daily operations of the QA Laboratory and personnel.
  • Performing analysis of molybdenum products using various methods, such as ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma), AA (Atomic Absorption), gravimetric, and colorimetric procedures.
  • Preparing samples, solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory procedures.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and equipment, ensuring they are functioning correctly and calibrated.
  • Conducting quality control tests to ensure raw materials and finished products meet required standards and specifications.
  • Collaborating with Operations and Process Engineers on experiments, product development, and production processes.
  • Writing technical reports, maintaining detailed records, and preparing specifications for processes and tests.
  • Adhering to occupational hazards and safety precautions, ensuring a safe laboratory environment.
  • Work with Quality department to develop and document ISO compliant standard operating procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Bridge and SAP software.
  • Ability to learn plant operational methods and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • ISO Internal Auditor certification.
