About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Roaster Operator to join our Centerra Langeloth team. This position is an onsite role based in Langeloth, PA, responsible for operating and maintaining all of the roasting equipment. This role also ensures the safe and efficient operation of machinery to meet production targets while adhering to safety standards. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring equipment to ensure that it is in good working order and production goals are being met.
  • Monitoring roaster operations to make sure temperatures are within safe limits and adjusting controls as needed.
  • Maintaining records including temperatures and feed settings to ensure accurate data is available for future reference and for environmental compliance.
  • Perform regular cleaning of the roasters and other equipment used in the production processes to ensure they can continue to operate the roasters safely and efficiently.
  • Perform internal cleaning of roasters during downtime as needed (e.g. using tools such as air chisels).
  • Monitor the amount of raw material entering the roaster to ensure proper temperature profile.
  • Monitor the raw material bins to ensure that there is aways material to be feed to the roaster.
  • Pack calcined finished product material from roaster product bins.
  • Monitor gauges and controls for roaster to ensure proper emissions.
  • Operate related equipment such as payloaders, forklifts and power tools when required.
  • Empty packing dracco bins.
  • Clean roaster landings.
  • Assist other operators as needed throughout the shift.
  • Any other miscellaneous duties assigned by Supervisor.
  • Support maintenance and contractors during downtime as needed.

About You

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, equipment manuals, and process diagrams.
  • Previous experience operating roasting equipment or similar machinery in a heavy industrial setting.
