About Thompson Creek Mine

The Thompson Creek Mine is a primary, surface molybdenum mine and mill located approximately 48 kilometres southwest of the town of Challis in Idaho's Custer County.

In operations since 1983, the mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods with large electric-powered shovels that can each move up to 100,000 tons of waste rock and ore per day.

Thompson Creek Mine promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Technician, Warehouse to join our Thompson Creek team. 

Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Be detail-orientated and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Must be safety conscious and abide by established safety/environmental rules and regulations.
  • Receiving /shipping of materials.
  • Operating forklifts and flatbed trucks.
  • Physical Inventory.
  • Unloading of trucks.
  • Customer service.
  • Using MRP system (SAP).
  • Microsoft office.
  • Demonstrate a strong safety ethic, and understand and support Thompson Creek Mine’s safety culture, including all safety/environmental processes/procedures. 
  • Be able to demonstrate good leadership skills and support the processes.
  • Be team-orientated, self-motivated and willing to share knowledge. 
  • May be assigned other duties.

About You

To qualify, the following skills and experiences are required:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Excellent safety record
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.
  • Be task and detail-oriented, possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be knowledgeable of related computer programs and systems (Microsoft Office, SAP). 
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
  • Work in other departments if needed.
  • SAP knowledge preferred, but not required. Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in adverse conditions.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts if needed.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment an asset.
