We are looking for dynamic, pro-active, analytical approached, enthusiastic, innovative, passionate, and self-motivated “Rock Mechanics Shift Engineer” for our project in Develi / Kayseri.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Rock Mechanics Shift Engineer to join our team.  

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collection of data for input into the rock mass classification systems and wall mapping, the analysis and reporting thereof,
  • Undertaking design of the slope monitoring systems (RADAR, Robotic Total Station (Prisms), InSAR, Crackmeters, and Piezometers) including installation and performance management
  • Analyzing of the monitoring data including RADAR, Robotic Total Station (Prisms), InSAR, Crackmeters, and Piezometers,
  • Performing the field tests and sample collecting when required,
  • Preparing the alarm thresholds, TARP’s, and Geotechnical Monitoring Plan,
  • Performing the stability analyses,
  • Preparing and keeping up to date of the Ground Control Management Plan,
  • Carrying out the daily site investigations and reporting the findings,
  • Management of the hydrogeological projects,
  • Preparing the geotechnical reports including Weekly Report, Monthly Report, Daily Site Investigation Report, Operational Flash Reports, and Geotechnical Assessment Reports,
  • Executing the geotechnical mapping works,
  • Performing the Geotechnical Modelling works,
  • Working closely with Mine Planning, Mine Operation and Mine Survey units to develop and implement best practice guidelines in geotechnics, mine design and for purposes of the Life of Mine studies.
  • Carrying out his/her works in compliance with the relevant laws, regulations, company procedures and health and safety rules,
  • Ensuring response to any failure of such tools and equipment in the shortest time and in safest manner,
  • Fulfilling the other duties relating to the job as assigned by his/her manager.

About You

To qualify, the following skills and experiences are required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering,
  • 1-3 years' experience in open pit mining industry,
  • Able to work in shift system,
  • Working experience in multinational and English-speaking environment is plus,
  • Good at in English,
  • Good command of MS Office applications, RocScience Softwares, Leapfrog and other geotechnical softwares,
  • Be an active driver,
  • Residing in Kayseri, Develi district or willing to relocate.
