Purchasing Agent - Materials Coordinator

Position is onsite at the manufacturing plant.

 

Main Responsibilities                                  

 
 
 
 
 
 

Accountabilities 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Negotiate contracts for services, products, etc. in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Manages all suppliers for plant operations. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Monitor and assess vendor performance and make recommendations for improvement. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and address and address and resolve supply-related issues promptly. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Provides detailed monthly reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Ensure purchased materials meet quality and compliance standards, including regulatory requirements. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.  

 
 
 
 
 
  • Collaborate with management to develop and manage the purchasing budget. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and best practices to increase efficiency and cost reduction. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts and correspondence. 

 
 
 
 
 
  • Stay up to date with relevant industry regulations and standards. 

 

Job Requirements 

 
 
 
 
 
 

Education, Certifications, Experience & Skills 

 
 
 
 
 

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or related experience preferred. 

 
 
 
 
 

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.  

 
 
 
 
 

Familiarity with procurement software and systems. 

 
 
 
 
 

Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement role, ideally in manufacturing or processing. 

 
 
 
 
 

Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems. 

 
 
 
 
 

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
